Hello Everyone! What I've been wanting to know if is there is something that can be done to help those writing english this year. What someoen could do is be like a tutor to many of us seeking assistance in many areas. Another Idea would be is someone could write a summary and have many of us do it and have it corrected to see where are the ereas we need to work on. That way, we'll be able to perform better the next time we're doing summary writing. Also, for the persuasive and story writing we could need some assistance in those two areas as well.

The Son
I found the letter in a cardboard box,Unfamous history,I read the words The ink was faint and brown ,the paper dry After so many years of being kept, The letter was a soldeir's, from the front-conveyed his love and dissappointed hopeof getting leave.'It's cancelled now,'he wrte.My luck is atthe bottom of the sea.'

Outside the sum was hot;the world looked bright;I heard a radio, and someone laughed.I did not sing, orlaught, orlove the sun.
within the quiet room I thought of him,My father killed, and all the other men,Whose luck was at the bottom of th sea

When summarizing a piece such as writing a letter,do yuo write it in one paragraph or you write it just as how a letter is supposed to be written?Because i am seeing wherea letter was written by Susan in the form of a paragraph than in the form of a letter, even though it contains all teh details of a letter.

One of our study buddies made a very good observation. He noted that the number of words CXCrecommendsfor short stories in paper 2 of the English A exam is 400-450 words. He also checked and realised that all of the short stories that won the annual CXC short story award for their year were over 450 words.

For most Carnival parades ears are keen to sounds, lifeless bodies are resurrected by simple Caribbean rhythm and the oddly yet magnificent styles of fashion appeals to the sense of sight. The word Carnival, with no doubt, provides vivid descriptions of the word 'excitement.

Little Johnny, age seven was vigorously carousing in the living room with his little, neatly carved paper airplane made by his mom. He was wild, o yes, wild like a loose monkey from the zoo. From sofas to sofas he went tramping vicious as a dinosaur on the floor producing the muffled roar of an airplane with his tiny cute mouth. Suddenly strange noises was coming from the wooden front gate downstairs; immediately he halted from his course of action, steady but slowly on the well carpeted floor with his bloated abdomen, swarming as a cockroach.

Hi:
In answering questions from a poem or comprehension passage we have to do so in complete sentences. Consider this below scenario below.
Question:
What meaning is conveyed by the word "acres" in line 1.
In answering this question, would CXC accepts this by giving you full marks.
"Acres meant ......."
Instead of
According to the passage, the word "acres" in line 1 conveyed ....
The reason of asking this is if CXC accepts the shorten form it will be more time effecient.
Thank you.
Have a nice day.

Hi there!! It's me Toney, your omline buddy.
I was wondering, does anyone have an idea if CXC brings poem in English paper 2. I normally come accross with comprehension passages but not as yet, any poems. I my opinion, poems are normally "KILLERS". Please posts your reply as early as possible.
Thank you for your time.
