Passing the CXC math exam while failing paper 2?

Most people fail paper 2 of the CXC math exam. The thing is, can you fail paper 2 and still pass the math exam? I don't think so. You would need to look at the marking scheme of the CXC math exam to see how the marks are distributed.

How much do you have to score on paper two in order to have a chance to pass the exam

you have to atleast get 50% of paper two and 90% in paper one to pass cxc maths

How do I go about passing this 50% and the 90% in paper 1 it is my first time ever sitting maths.
