Last year when I collected my CXC results, I noticed that there where two profiles which was assigned next to the word "English A" of my slip. This was (1) Understanding and (2) Expression. I was awarded C in understanding and E in expression. I wanted to know if the paper 1 (Multiple choice) monitors the understanding aspect and the paper 2 which comprises of short stories monitors the expression aspect.

Mary - Hiya Tony, I am not sure but i think understanding has to do with reading comprehension. So I guess it would be paper 1 and paper 2 since there are reading comprehension questions on both papers. Expression soumds like 'express yourself' to me so I think that would mean writing, so that would be paper 2.

At least that is what I understand from the syllabus when I was looking it over in the CXC english guide section here.

Hello, a wiki is collection of web pages organized into a book like format.
It is designed to enable members who have access to the wiki book to contribute to writing the book. Members can add web pages/ content to expand the book. It is an online "book" that is written through the collaboration of many people.

Really, a wiki offers members the opportunity to participate in creating an information database about any topic. The most famous example of a well-developed wiki is Wikipedia, A free online encyclopedia to which millions of people have contributed web pages/content.

Our CXC exam prep wiki is our wikipedia for the CXC math and English exams. We invite members to collaborate together and contribute to developing a wiki that can help CXC exam students for many years.
