There is no fact evidence in this example of an augmentative essay but it is persuasive in the disagreeing selection of the point taken in elaborating on the topic. Is this really what CXC is looking for in their exams?

This is very informative example of how to write an Argumentative Essay but what about if we chose to do a Persuasive piece?

Hmmm good question. What is the difference between a persuasive and an argumentative essay? Well, the way I see it, a persuasive essay makes points in support of a position and supports each of these points with either examples, evidence, facts, statistics or through the use of logic, analogy etc.

An argumentative essay goes a bit further than a persuasive essay. In addition to presenting points in support of a position, an argumentative essay also states potential counter arguments to your stated points and addresses them by using examples/facts/evidence to show how they are weak or empty.

Just my 0.02 cents. Someone else may have a different take on it.
