Another great short story competition!

Here is another great short story writing competition for all our writers. I just found out that the Inter-American Development Bank is hosting a short story writing competition for young writers from Latin America and the Caribbean.

Sweet!

So, if your country borrows money from the IADB, you can enter! As far as I understand, writers from the Bahamas, Belize, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago can enter.

Writers have to be between 16 and 20 years of age.

The first three prizes are very nice: first prize - USD $3,000

second prize - USD $2,000

third prize - USD $1,000

Ka ching !!...some good encouragement to dig inside to find that creative bone, right??

And the details........

What do you write about?

The short story has to address the issues that concern the IADB such as poverty reduction, education, sustainable energy and climate change, water and sanitation and opportunities for majority populations.

When to submit? Deadline: November 1st 2009

Where to submit? email entry to ANNEV@iadb.org

How to submit? Microsoft Word file (.doc) (as an attachment)

That's it for me. You can get more juice on this opportunity from here on the IADB website

Registrations for CXC CSEC exams January 2010 are closed

Yep. For the most part registrations for CXC exams January 2010 are closed right now. And........registrations for CXC CSEC exams May/June 2010 are opening around the Caribbean.

So, if are interested in sitting the CXC CSEC exams in May/June 2010, I suggest you start contacting your local MOE to get the forms to fill out and find out about the deadline dates from them.

For those of you sitting the CXC exams in January 2010, we have published the FINAL timetable for CXC EXAM January 2010.

Those dates are now set, so you can start planning your study timetable - you have a little less than 100 days according to our calendar in the left navigation bar.

That's it from me for now. Talk to y'all laterz.
