CXC has just published the timetable for the May/June 2009 CSEC exams. The CXC website says that this is a draft timetable. This means that CXC may, at its discretion, change dates if there are timetable clashes or other problems. As it stands though, this is the timetable that we have for the moment.

You may view CXC's original timetable here. It is a .pdf document and you will need a .pdf reader like Adobe Acrobat to view this document.

The CXC CSEC exams for May/June 2009 begin on Monday 4th May, 2009 and end on Friday 12th June, 2009.

The CXC CSEC general proficiency English A exam is set to take place on Tuesday May 19th 2009.

The CXC CSEC general proficiency math exam is set to take place on Wednesday 20th May, 2009.

We have posted the whole timetable so that you can use it to plan your study schedules accordingly (Can't say you didn't know!!).

Hi friend, I'm not so sure but I think the January exam results should be out by March or so based on what the teachers at my school said.

Hi people,
Is CAT (Certified Accounting Technician) course is equavalent to a degree in accountancy. Thank very much.

guest (not verified) 2 August 2009 - 2:00pm

In reply to by guest (not verified)

Hi,
CAT is not equivalent to an Accounting degree. ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) which is the next stage after CAT is equivalent to a degree in Accounting.

You can see the relationship between them here:

emmanuel what is the key to passing enlish A

The key to passing English A is to read everything thoroughly, nothing should be over looked.Staying within the time limited for each section also helps. These tips should be useful to you in conjunction with a good study plan, it really played a part in my success in the Jan exams.

You have to read good books to get ideas, newspapers to see how columnists structure their articles and treat with topics and do research (interview people, internet, books, even your teacher) to get points for your essays. Just read a variety of things even though they may be boring and watch the news to stay current.

The french Oral Exams Begin on the 20th of April 2009 and continue for the week into Spanish Orals which are on Thursday and Friday

kennypooh (not verified) 17 April 2009 - 10:35pm

im pretty good in spanish both in orals and theory but i tend to get tongue tied when it comes to doing the situations..does any one have any tips? thanks

Kathy-ann Daniel 18 April 2009 - 12:39pm

In reply to by kennypooh (not verified)

Hi, I suggest that you get together with friends who are also doing Spanish and you all play act the situations. The more practice you have talking in Spanish "on the fly" the easier it will become to naturally fall into speaking Spanish I think.

i have been recently told that due to my schools mishap i will no longer be able to do my physics exam, but im already registered. can someone tell me how this will show up on my slip when i get my grades.

Kathy-ann Daniel 18 April 2009 - 12:50pm

Hey,
I would not just accept that there was a problem in my school and I couldn't sit my exam.

I would go to the local Ministry of Education ask them if it was possible to do the exam at another school. Don't even call, just go there in person and look pitiful while you ask them "pleasssse" if you could do the exam at another school.

You should point out that the exam is already paid for and if you don't sit then that is money lost and that you don't have money to pay to do it again. Be prepared to jump through hoops to get to sit your exam.

Only after, and only after, they have turned you down 500 hundred times, then I would ask them at the Ministry what happens if I don't sit the exam this May/June.

I don't know why I have problem with this subject, I got past papers I have been practising alot and in my mind I think I don't give it all I have on studying for this subject, Can someone help me? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Hello,

I am an EDPM teacher, and what I try to tell my students, don't put a mental block on things, it will become more difficult. The very first thing I tell my Students is that EDPM is the easiest subject that you will be doing. Start with that.

Past papers - Theory - Usually, there's a pattern that exist with all the past papers. You have plagiarism and copyright coming up every year. Hardware and Software is also popular. So make notes on those things. Go through the papers and write down the topic assiociated with each question and write the answer/note for it. TAKE YOUR TIME. If you rush you will get flustered. When you open your paper, READ the ENTIRE paper first, and as you are reading, take a pencil and write down little notes (on the exam paper itself) that pop into your head when you read the question, because, you may not remember it when you start the question.

Pratcial Paper - During the reading time, READ the paper, and as stated above, make little notes that would help you NOT to WASTE TIME. If you have problems with a word, try to figure it out in that time, and see if it makes SENSE in the context of the paragraph.

I hope this helped a little. Practice for the practical, Mavis Beacon helps with the typing with accuracy and speed, if you can get it to use it will help. I have some notes and handouts. My email is rhea.dean@gmail.com if you would like the notes, please email me, I will send you copies of what I have. All the best. Hope I helped in some way.
