Math practice
How much practice is enough practice for math? If you are bad at math like me, how much practice do I need to pass the CXC math exams in June?
five times
a day, cool, but how much time do you spend in each of the five times? 5 minutes each time or what? Or how many problems do you work in each of the five times? do you do 5 problems, or ten or what? help me out here.
people who do really bad at maths
if you are as bad as you say when you get whole of any past papers or any kind of study guide one thing you should keep in mind is to have someone who is 'good' to help you as you go along maths is a a doing subject practise with a willing mind!! semoneadams
Since I can't
keep up in school, I basically I have to teach myself. I was asking because I wanted to know how much practice I should give myself before exams in June. You know, like practice for an hour each day or whatever.
as much practice you can
as much practice you can get,we can never try to conquer mathematics so practice a'ight!!!!!!!!!

CSEC CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS STUDIES
Hey, I collected my May/June 2008 CSEC results certificate. But I received a Certificate of Business Studies as well. Can some1 please explain what that is about! Thanks.
Re: CXC certificate in Business Studies
Hi, I am not sure why that happened. If you did not do business subjects, then it definitely sounds like a mistake. If you did do business subjects, then it might be some new thing that CXC has begun, like the CCSLC.
I suggest that you call your local Ministry of Education to find out what's going on. Contact information for the regional Education Ministries are in our links section, so you can probably check for phone numbers there.
Hope this helps. If you find out what's going on, you could probably let us know too, if you don't mind...
Certificate In Business Studies
Yes I did Business. & i spoke to my teacher about it & she said it's because i got all 1's & it's given to the best performing business student in the school!!!
Re: Certificate in Business
Congratulations! Wow! that is really good news! I am sure you must be very happy to know this. You got a certificate that recognizes your hard work and efforts. You deserve it.
So what's next for you? CAPE or something else?
Thanks too for coming back and letting us know what happened.

The class that I have been attending closed their sat classes about a few ,ths ago because of a low attendance of students so i am trying to learn on my own right now and it'd really hard for me cause like if i have questions i just bypass it!!

CSEC math is all about
CSEC math is all about repetition, meaning that you don't need to understand what you are doing only remember the steps involved. Just practice, practice, practice. Use your time wishly and do math whenever you taking a break from something else even if it is just doing a single question. If you have questions that you can get the worked solutions of, example questions done in class, do them without looking at solutions till after. BEST OF LUCK.
CSEC math
Hi, you make a very good point about knowing the solution steps. However, a lot of the skill in solving the problems in CXC math paper 2 is knowing what steps to use AND when to use them. Knowing WHEN to use particular solutions steps makes it important for you to understand exactly what you are being asked to do. So, I would I think it is a good idea to try to understand what you are doing.
Im only in third form but i

Math 2009
Hey ppl,
Math paper 2 was good. I finished in 2 hours with 40 minutes to spare, so the time was definitely enough. The questions were cool and straight forward.
In Section 2, I chose to do questions 11 and 14.
I wrote the exam in January for the first time and got a distinction so I'm hoping for good results again.
- Which questions did most ppl choose to do in Section 2?
- How did you think the exam was?
MATH WAS HARD BUT OK
the long paper was like a huricane and multiple choice was easy maths !!!!!!!
I did 11 & 14 also :) I
I did 11 & 14 also :)
I didn't get to finish on time...but that was a fault on my behalf..
I wasted too much time trying to figure out one question..
I went into the exam not quite understanding transformation...so that also hurt me.
overall, it was a good exam.
PS: DISTINCTION! NICE :)
Walkthrough
I don't know, but.. leading up to today's exam, the prior past papers makes this year seem really easy. Section I was great, and Section II as well. Personally I choose vectors (#13) and matrices (#14). Also, I was surprised when I finished the multiple choice in an hour and was able to take the next half hour to check over. Overall I think this year was great. Well, I hope all our hard work from over the years finally paid off.
Oh, and almost everyone I know did ques#9 for P2 S2. I like graphs, but this year had more that enough 1cm blocks to last a lifetime, lol.
Mathematics
mathematics was okay i mean paper 1 was easy and in paper 2 i did questions 9 and 14 so i did my best. i finish before time and i look over what i did.
Teaching CSEC Math
Hi,
I have been teaching mathematics at the secondary level to the lower school for most of my teaching career. I was recently asked to teach the CSEC syllabus this year and I am a bit apprehensive and unprepared. I believe that I will be able to manage the content but I am not too keen on where to start and how to effectively deliver the content to ensure good performance. Is there anyone who has any suggestions as to how I can proceed, keeping in mind that the school that I am teaching does not do well in math?
Math
hey everyone don't worry. Math is very easy. Just practics it.
