2009 short story competition for Guyanese writers

Signifyinguyana Short Story Competition 2009

Signifyinguyana is inviting Guyanese writers of all ages to participate in their first annual short story competition. There is no age limit. The competition however is open ONLY to Guyanese writers living in Guyana.

You may submit up to three original stories which have never been published.

Entries will be accepted until April 1, 2009, and winners will be announced in May 2009

Prizes

1st Prize: US$500 and publication (TBA)

2nd Prize: US$300 and publication (TBA)

3rd Prize: US$100 and publication (TBA)

Note: Two (2) US$50 prizes will be awarded for noteworthy participation in a writing workshop to be led by Ruel Johnson.

Hi Toney, smile..because of you, I always keep an eye out for opportunities for our Guyanese buddies. When I saw this, I thought, "Hmm, I wonder if he would be interested?"
So I am glad that you are and I hope all our Guyanese buddies will take the opportunity to participate. You never know, you may win, and, it is a great way to practice for the CXC English exam short story coming up in May 2009.
