Microsoft Voice Recognition

Submitted by guest (not verified) on 29 December 2008 - 10:17am

Hey Guys! I have a microphone and was trying Microsoft Voice Recognition in Microsoft Word. This means as I speak a word it is being spelled out. It is an awesome feature by Microsoft Word: no need of typing. However, I did several training but the computer can’t still recognize most of the words I am speaking. This can also help to prepare past CXC exam papers at a faster rate. Any suggestions friends?

Obviously, you're talking about Microsoft Office 2003, because as of 2007. There is no voice recognition built in to Office 2007 as well as no office assistants.

But yeah, Voice recognition rocks.

Hi Jamain, Sansha and Toney! You guys are fantastic! I wasn't around for a couple of days and came back to find that you have been handling everything while the rest of us were on Christmas break. You three are amazing!

The teamwork, the cooperation and the support for the other
study buddies is so commendable! I am using exclamation marks all over the place!;-))

Jamain and Sansha, as you already know, Toney was made a senior member of caribexams because of the committment and support he has shown to his study buddies in this group. It is clear that you both have the shown the same committment. In honour of that, you are both hereby promoted to senior membership. Congratulations Jamain and Sansha!

And,to assist you all in your efforts on behalf of your
caribexams study buddies, all three of you can now upload images to the study group.

You each have your own image folder and can collect your .gifs and .jpg files there. Smile, play with the feature, take it for a run and let me know how you like it.

Happy New Year to you and all our caribexams study buddies!

Hi Toney, I don't know much about Microsoft voice recognition unfortunately. Do you have to train the program to recognize your voice and words? I know that with some text to speech software, you have to train the program to recognize the words that you are saying. Maybe this is the case with the MS program as well.
