Examine and draw storage organism; examine corms, bulbs, rhizomes, runners, and cuttings. |
2. Describe the process of sexual reproduction in plants and in humans
|
Comparison with asexual, Advantages and disadvantages (variety, evolution, livestock and crops).
Human reproduction; naming and function of parts; menstrual cycle and role in contraception, pregnancy; fertilization, development of fetus (outline); birth; contraception.

3. Discuss the importance of pre-and post natal care of mothers and babies
|
The effects of nutrition, drugs, X-rays and diseases, emphasis on advantages of breast feeding, immunization. |

4. Describe the role of chromosomes in the transfer of genetic information
|
Genetic transfer: (outline), cell division, chromosome transfer
The implications of the Rh factor, precautions that the mother may take to ensure birth of a normal child.

5. Compare growth patterns in selected organisms
|
Seeds of annual plants to be planted may be balsam, bean and maize. |
Plot graph of plant growth at regular intervals of one week and extrapolate to predict height at future time;
Construct and analyze graphs of height and weight with increasing age of boys and girls; attempt to verify prediction for plants and students.

6. Discuss the need for human population control
