Re: home study
Yes, you can sign up to sit the CXC CSEC exams in May/June, even if you are not registered with an educational institution.
In this case, you do not submit a School Based Assessment (SBA) for the exams, rather you would sit a third exam on the subject or a paper three (3).
The subjects with (alternative) paper 3's in the CXC CSEC May/June 2011 exams are:
Principles of Accounts (POA),
Principles of Business (POB),
Social Studies,
Information Technology,
Chemistry,
Caribbean History,
Economics,
Electronic Document Preparation and Management,
Geography,
Integrated Science SA,
Office Administration,
Physics
If you choose to sit POA, POB or Social Studies, you can check the search box here for specimen examples of the paper 3 exams. I am sure they are available.
Good luck with your exams!
P.S. When you are registering for the CXC CSEC exam for these subjects you will need to state clearly that you want the alternative option or else they will insist you submit an SBA for the subject.
I noticed you did not list
I noticed you did not list biology as having an alternative paper? Can you get back to me as soon as possible please as I am considering signing up for may/june bio without the SBA, since I'm now in lower 6 and didn't do bio in school in form 5.However, I did it as a private subject.
Home study, may/june
If I study at home is it possible for me to sign up for the may/june exams? Since I am not in an institution what takes the place of SBAs?
