A wild week for CXC CSEC exam results
Well it was a wild week for CSEC results by any measure. "Yes, they are out... no they aren't... they have been released... we don't have them... they are in the island... check back..." And so it went.
Students can be forgiven for feeling aggravated, annoyed and just plain ill-treated. Going through it with you all, I can tell you I was feeling very aggravated myself. I tried however, to be a voice of reason. Didn't want anybody going down to the local MOE and cussing out the staff for something they have no control over...smile, I know some crazy people who do stuff like that. Don't say no, you know you know people like that too. ;-)
So a lot of the dust has cleared and results were given out in Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, and some schools in Jamaica. I feel that results may also have been given out in some of the other smaller islands -we just haven't heard it. For example, Saba may have given out results already, we just don't know. Results are due out in Antigua and Barbuda next week and all of Jamaica should have them by then. We have no word on Grenada or St. Vincent.
And the results are...
So some of you may be over the top of the world with your results.. feeling like this -
While some of you may be feeling like this -
What I would like to tell you is that while excellent exam results are great and poor exam results can make you feel like 'cat vomit' ;-), really neither tell where you will end up in life. They don't. Really.
Life and your future work career is not a 100 m dash, it is a marathon. It is about keeping up with the race, it is about keeping the goal in front of you and maintaining the pace over the long haul. It is about endurance, not speed.
So if things didn't work out for you this time, cry if you must, then put your boots back on and get out there....your race is not over.
that is so true
thanks for the kind words. i did not do so well. i got too many 3's but as u say the race is not over yet.
Not for the swift
There is a little thing that says that the race is not for the swift but for the one who endures to the end.My dear it is just not your turn yet to sweep the floor with pure excellence but when your turn arrives you will be gloriously rejoicing the abundant blessing that has been bestowed on you.All you have to do is work harder.Don't give up no matter what the circumstances may be God will always be there for you.I got a few two and the rest are ones but I'm still not satisfied with my twos so I have made a commitment to work harder.
RESULTS OUT IN ST. VINCENT
I am from st. vincent and the results were released to students on friday 22nd of August.
Re: St Vincent results, any other islands?
Thanks for the update from St. Vincent! We appreciate...anyone with information on results in other Caribbean territories?
Jamaica : cxc results very scattered!
I attend Cornwall College in Montego Bay, Jamaica. My school still have not received the csec results. The thing that drives me crazy is there are two other high schools, Mount Alvernia and Montego Bay High School for Girls on the same street, both received their results. The girls from (both are all girls schools) Mount Alvernia and Montego Bay High School for Girls were all running to me asking what did you get? I was just fustrated I could not share in their joy. The school said they were assured they would receive csec result tommorrow. It's will be a another miserable anxious night.
All schools to get cxc results by Wednesday.
In Jamaica, the Overseas Examination Commission is the agency responsible for the administration, distribution of the csec, cape etc.... Not the Ministry of Education.I called them today and they said that all schools in Jamaica would have received the cxc results by Wednesday 27,2008.They said that many schools have already received the results,
And the majority of the island's high schools will receive theirs tommorrow.
If you have question you can called them at ,920-3284,929-1424,929-1571

You are very well correct!
Thank you for your kind words. You are very well correct. The race isn't over- in fact, it's just beginning! The world of work and tertiary education is tough and so we will need to maintain pace in order to become successful.
