CXC exams: Private candidate fees to sit CXC CSEC exams
Private candidates who wish to sit the CXC CSEC must pay their registration and examination fees to the Local Ministry of Education in their island or territory. These fees are payable on registering to sit the CXC CSEC exams.
In Jamaica, the agency in charge of registration to sit the CXC exams is the Overseas Examination Commission.

Hello, yes, these are the fees that CXC has set for CXC CSEC exam registration.
There may be local fees in addition. These may be fees set by your local Ministry of Education for processing your CXC CSEC exam registration application.
Since these local fees vary by exam territory, you will need to contact your Ministry of Education (Overseas Examinations Commission in Jamaica) for more information on this.

No, you cannot sit the exam at any institution. Private candidates normally receive instructions from the Ministry of Education or the Overseas Examination Commission (CXC Local Registrar) on which exam centre to attend to sit their exams.

I'm currently a full time student at my school however, I chose to write several science subjects such as Biology and Chemistry and Integrated Science while I'm still in form four. My teachers have recommended me and believes I will be successful and these courses.
Right now, I can only write the 3rd papers for these subjects because I haven not completed the SBA's as yet...Can I register through my school and still write the 3rd papers.

Hi Edward, You can write your CXC CSEC exams in another school, if the school is in a Caribbean territory where the exams are given. If this is not the case, and you are moving out of the Caribbean region, it will not be possible for you to sit these exams. Sorry.

Hello, yes you can sit CXC exams while studying on your own. You would sign up to sit the exams in January. The January exams are for out-of-school exam candidates.

If I register as a private candidate through OEC and study on my own do I have the option to do the Internal Assessment (SBA) or I would have to do paper 3? If I can do the IA/ SBA who would I submit it to?

If you register as a private candidate, you do not complete an internal assessment. Instead, you write a paper 3. There is no SBA or internal assessment offered to private candidates.
