Most of the topics there i'm great with.. whenever our math teacher sends us to the board to work a sum, if you're going wrong, she stops you and explains and everytime i make a mistake i remember word-for-word about what she said. Accounts is another subject by itself. i think i'll get all ones except for art, probably a 2 there and accounts(5 or 4).. and i'm serious... i'm horrible at accounts

Hello,

WE have a table posted for the CXC math exam which details how you much time you should spend on each question in the exam. It might be a good idea to check the link to our CXC math exam guide (top left side of the screen). It has quite a lot of information for the CXC math exam.

Must u have the correct answer for math or you get marks for having the idea or correct formula?

admin 20 May 2012 - 6:12pm

In reply to by guest (not verified)

Hi,

Yes, you do get marks if your working shows that you know the correct procedure to get to the answer. That means that you must have written down your working for the questions and not just the answers.

loverboi (not verified) 8 July 2012 - 10:01pm

Hi,

working out a math problem in exam is like following a recipe. let's say a recipe has six steps to make a cake. The examiner is checking to see if you know the correct six steps for the recipe; he is checking to see if you know the correct six steps to solve the math problem.

So you get marks for each correct step in the math problem you get right.

Can you follow a recipe correctly and the cake falls flat? Yes.

Can you follow all the correct steps in a math problem and get the wrong answer? Yes.

Do you get marks for the problem even if you have the wrong answer? Yes.

You will get full marks if you can show that you have followed all the correct steps and you get the right answer.

But if you make some small mistake with adding or something, you still get marks for following the correct steps and knowing what you should be doing to solve the math problem.

Hope this helps.
