Japanese Embassy scholarships for Caribbean Nationals

The application process for the 2013 Monbukagakusho Scholarship Programme is OPEN.

Each year, the Monbukagakusho (MEXT: Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology of the Government of Japan) offers scholarship to

One Jamaican,

One Bahamian and

One Belizean university graduate

to study as a research student at any Japanese universities in the fields of the Humanities, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences. The research student can pursue the masters or doctoral course once he/she is successful in the university entrance examination which is taken in Japan. Financial support and extension of stay will be granted to the applicant.

Application deadline is 15 June, 2012.

April – 15 June 2012 Application period

Late June 2012 Interview candidates for the shortlist

July – October 2012 The short listed candidates must obtain acceptance letter(s) from the relevant universities in Japan.

December 2012 The final result is expected to be notified.

April or September 2013 Departure for Japan
