my query is that why is it that two major exams- maths and English have to be written one day after the next. I think that students writing the CXC exams have at least one or two days extra to revise these two subjects.I am a good English student but definitely not a good Math student so I on behalf of other weak students like myself wish to urge the member of the CXC department wishes to urge you to please look into this.
Thank You

My biggest problems in doing the exams was Accounts. I am a fairly good accounts student, however, the fact that all 3 papers were done on the same day caused me to become fatigued and drained. Then the subjects which came after English A and Mathematics only added to this. I know person have successfully completed theses exams, however persons like myself need to be considered.

What were they doing with their heads on the desk? Everybody was sleeping or what? For real???

Okay, the POA exams killed me too, even in the Paper 2 I began to feel tired and lethargic and honestly just wanted the thing to end as soon as possible. Now, mind you, I'm not a fabulous accounts student but I could actually get through it but, when I requested for more paper, one of the supervisors rudely exclaimed 'Because everyone is just wasting papers (excluding me because I never wanted more papers up until that point) there is no more papers so do not ask for more papers' at this point you could say that I felt screwed over.

This is my major dilemma with CXC, I reside in Dominica and there was no more extra paper which was stressful for many. We so didn't have any paper that the invigilator (Lord bless his soul) had to take an extra booklet and tear out extra papers from it. Funny story was that the extra booklet was actually supposed to be given to another private candidate but the boy stayed there for the whole three hours without doing anything with the question paper in his hand and, can you believe it, that for the whole three hours he remained silent without even asking for a booklet.

Needless to say, his foolishness assisted many others who used papers tore from the booklet that was supposed to be given to him. Anyway, I had requested for paper and I wasn't given one because someone else who had wasted and crumpled at least 5 extra paper asked for one before me. Now is this fair?!

Someone who disposing of paper like a garbage truck practically swimming in paper while people who honestly wanted just one extra paper were not given any and I'm not the only one. I'm also not the only one who, due to the paper shortage, had to write answers on the extra spaces on their journals. Yes, we had to answer our exams on our journal papers. I, personally, was irate but time was running and I had no choice really and the invigilator gave us the thumbs up for it.

All I'm saying, CXC send sufficient extra paper please. Also, another complaint of mine is putting English, Math and POA one after the other ... what were those people up there is that council thinking?! I was happy that I'm actually a good English student and due to our portfolio's we did a month prior I was more than prepared for this exams. However, I'm not the best Math student and, that brings up another complaint of mine, that the Math exam does not have sufficient time.

I'm sorry I'm not one of those children that can glide through this exam, but I would have liked more time than the minimal 2hrs and 45mins we were given, maybe 3hrs. Persons may disagree, but certain parts I didn't complete the sections in a mad rush to finish the last two questions, needless to say that when I came to finish the Circle Theorems question. I was able to quickly put in the last two questions under the question. Also, in the Math exam there was also a severe shortage of paper and and students were made to write at the back of their graph papers. Also, there was a shortage of string to tie these extra papers, but I was lucky on this day to have been able to receive my extra paper and string before this shortage affected the other candidates.

All I'm saying is that for the island of Dominica, CXC should at least send sufficient supplies or, at least, sufficient supplies to the Convent High School because our invigilator had to go to a neighboring school to get extra papers for another exam, I think it was Geography, but since I didn't sit this exam I'm not too sure but I heard students complaining that the invigilator had to go searching for paper. I think there was a lack of foresight on the part of the council.

I had the same problem with the accounts exams I'm a very good accounts student or should I say was anyway the exam tore me apart and then the math I didn't get to complete the paper so god knows what happened but I got high pressure for two days after those three stressful days of my life...........
