CXC releases results for the January 2010 CSEC exams

CXC has indicated that the results of the January 2010 CSEC exams will be released on March 1st 2010.

For those of you who don't know the drill, this means that this is the datethat the results will be sent to the Ministry of Education in your territory.

You will not get your results on this date.

The local Ministries of Education usually take a day or two (sometimes longer) to tabulate statistics on national performances intheexams.

After this, the results become available to exam candidates. Usually the local Ministry of Education will make public announcements that the CXC results have arrived and that they will be posting them out to candidates. You are also given the opportunity to go into the Ministry to collect your results slip.

If you live in Trinidad and Tobago, we strongly recommend that you do not wait to receive your CXC CSEC exam results by post from the Ministry of Education. You should go into the Ministry personally to collect your exam results.

i cant wait to get back my maths results but im still thinking if i get a 2 if i should do over but if i get a 3 ill certainly do over, guys if i get a grade 2 in maths should i do over? is it worth it? considering i have 6 other subjects to do along with it in may/june?

Yes i tink u should do it over if u get a two. it doesnt matter if u get a lower grade in may, u will still hav ur 2, but try to aim for a 1

I am sorry I disagree. If nichel gets a grade two, she has already passed the subject. She does not NEED a grade one to go on to further study or get a job, everyone accepts a grade two.

Plus, she has 6 other subjects she is sitting in June which she has to prepare for. So, why add a another subject onto that six to make seven, just so she can say she got a grade one in maths?

To me that is just an ego trip to be able to walk around and say "I get a one in math!"

The way I see it, you do it (the exam), pass it, and move on. There are so many more exams and tests in your future, that I would not let myself get tied up fussing over a grade one or a two. Its done, its over, you've passed, move on.

.....Or not. Whatever you decide.

btw kathy im a boy my name is pronounced like knee-kell, anyways i just wanted peoples opinion and since u put it that way especially talking about further study and everyone taking a 2 i think i will get it and move on thanks =) it help me alot

Yikes, sorry about mistaking you for a girl nichel. My bad. But I am glad you found the information helpful. Good luck with the other subjects you are sitting this June.

just to inform you in the event that your unaware of the fact that if you should resit an exam what ever grade you receive last will take precedence over the prior grade whether its better are worst. so telling nichel that he will still have his grade two is ridiculous.
and getting a grade two in maths is a victory worth celebrating.

I get the impression from what I am reading that if I get a 2 in Maths in January and decide to do it again in May and get a 3, my final grade would be a 3. According to the information that I received from officials at the ministry in St.Lucia is that you as the student decide which grade to choose regardless of which was is recent. So now I'm reading a different thing. So, from whom do I get clarification from because I'm confused now.

Hi,
Many people seem to think that the last grade obtaind in exams overrides all previous grades. If the St. Lucia Ministry of Education has a policy of accepting the grade presented by the candidate, that is great!

I will make some enquiries about it myself and post again when I have more concrete information.

"...if u get a lower grade in may, u will still hav ur 2.." Actually, that is not exactly true, as it is the latest grade that is valid. So if you get a 2 in January and a 3 in May/June, then that will erase the January result.

The only subject that I would suggest you resit if you get a 2 would have to be English Language as most universities are asking for a 1 in English or for prospective students to do an ELPT.

Good luck with your decision.

I think you should just take a breather and relax. The result will come and nothing can change the grade you already get and anticipating. so save yourself some additional stress. ok? It will come

guest (not verified) 4 March 2010 - 7:36pm

Hey people CXC results will not be out until the end of March 2010

guest (not verified) 5 March 2010 - 5:29pm

results out and i cant get access

guest (not verified) 5 March 2010 - 6:04pm

Do the grades attained in May/June examinations override those attained in January? E.g. If I obtain a 3 in English in May/June exams and a 2 in the January before, would the 3 be the valid grade??? Please respond...

Blanket 2 (not verified) 6 March 2010 - 10:55pm

In reply to by guest (not verified)

No. Whatever grade you obtained last that is the grade that counts. Therefore, if you got a 2 in whatever subject and felt dissatisfied and do a resit and get a 3 then your new grade that counts is the 3 and NOT the 2.I hope that answers your question.

i think i did well but i scared as hell just thinking bout it i need to do well you see i under real pressure from my parents i mostly scared of disappointing them .has anyone been in this situation before i need advice or else i will kill myself suicide has crossed my mind but i still struggling. HELP ME!!

Hey u, a pass or fail results does not worth your life. You are more valuable than a pass grade. If your parents cant see this then you need to put yourself up for adaption. I did, and i am now 35 years old going o to 36 and still trying to pass a couple of subjects. It doesnt happen fast for everyone. The world cant afford to lose you. Might be your gift/talent lies somewhere else where, persons are waiting on you to realize so that you may one day inpart a change in their lives too. We all need you. nuff love! YOU'RE SO SPECIAL, SO SPECIAL, SO SPEACIAL, SO SPECIAL!

Well ,the first thing u did identified is that u think u did well and i believe u did well .Trust yourself and know u did well, u see sometimes we second guess ourselves and cause unnecessary stress ( u are looking at one) however, always remember u did ur best .....u see the results is not really for ur parents its for u and even though u may not do quiet well there are other times to improve. We all need to improve in some area and sometimes not only one time but we may have tried on several occasions before we get it right. One thing I know for sure ur parents would not like to know that they loose their beloved child over some results trust me ... some times parents put up these hard rules so we can improve ourselves but not to take our lives ...... Much love and i know u did ur best love
