CXC CSEC exams January 2009 start tomorrow !

Hi folks! Yep, I took the Christmas off and had myself a 'likkle' vacation. What can I say? I needed it.

But, (you should never start a sentence with 'but') here I am again to support you through the upcoming exams.

I hope that if you are sitting the CXC CSEC math and English exams tomorrow and Tuesday, that you have been studying hard and learning all the exam room techniques that will getthrough the experience. And when I say exam techniques, I don't mean this:

finger_cross

finger-crossing is not a very good exam technique. Instead, I hope that you intend to,

1)read all the questions on theexambefore you start to answer any questions.

2) At the beginning of the exam, you choose all the questions you intend to answer.

Also at the beginning of the exam (while your mind is still fresh and you are not feeling the pressure of timeas yet)you should write little notes to yourself on the exam paper. These notes should include

(i) points you want to include in your answers,

(ii) things you don't what to forget in the exam "when yuh head get
hot"e.g.math or accounts formulas, literature or history
quotes, historydates, how toshow/write out your working etc, etc

3) Make sure to time yourself on each question. So that you leave enough time to attempt every question. If you do great on question 1 and fail to answer question 5, you can still only get the max. mark on Q1 and you lose all the marks on question 5. That is a bad exam strategy.

So remember, very importantly, time yourself. And for our members and guests, we have worked out the time management system forboththe CXC CSEC math and English exams. So that work is done for you already.

(Big smile!)

4) Leave time to check your answers at the end of the exam.

5) Make sure you walk with enough pens. pencils, erasers, 'whiteout' etc to the exam room. This is not a place for coulda, shoulda, planned to, but...

Finally, I wish all the best to my study buddies sitting exams. Shout out to Kiki! I have you in my thoughts girl!

My final advice that I can give you, is the one that I have always used for myself, think, "failure is not an option!" and live by it.

All the best....
