UPDATED: Steps to follow to access your CXC CSEC results online

UPDATED again!! Steps to follow to access your CXC CSEC results May/June 2011 online

Okay, I am going to start this with a disclaimer "big an' bol'!" We are not affiliated with CXC. I repeat, we are not affiliated with CXC. We cannot give you your CXC CSEC exam results nor can we do anything to help you get them faster.


All we did was post a link to the site that CXC had established for you to go to and get your results. That is the 'sum total' of our involvment so far in your CXC exam results: we posted a link ... and gave you some directions about what to do when you got there, but that is all ;).


Okay, so with that out of the way, I will say that I am truly sorry to see the suffering that CXC CSEC exam candidates are going through right now. And I know it is suffering; pure torture I am sure.


I wish there was more we could do to help you. The only thing I can think to do right now is to publish some directions that a very kind guest left in our community. I am going to post these directions to the front page in the hope that they are helpful. If they are not, please don't blame me.


I know this may not be much help, but.. "when water more than flour..."

We have updated our directions because jgmanza tried it this way and it worked for him.

Here goes:

Step 1: open Internet Explorer browser (do not use Firefox, Safari or anything else)

Step 2: go to the CXC student portal

Step 3: enter Center Number - (Here enter only your 6 digit Center Number)

Step 4: enter Candidate Number - (Here enter the center number plus the 4 digit student #)

Step 5: enter Last Name - (I did it like this "Manzanero")

Step 6: date of birth - (Just follow the format here 18/11/1993 for 18 Nov, 1993)

Step 7: period - (Mine was CSEC June 2011)

Step 8: click "login"

Step 9: click on the "report" tab

Step 10: click on "report selection"

Step 11: in the drop down list, click "results - preslips"

Step 12: enter your sequence number (found under "registration")

Step 13: select a file format (we recommend pdf - portable document format e.g. Adobe reader)

Step 14: Click "preview"

Finally: save to desktop or open it


Again, I repeat, these are not my steps. They come from the advice of a guest and a member who I am hoping are as disturbed as I am to see the distress of CXC exam candidates and are offering the information to try to help them.

UPDATE: We have updated our directions on the advice of a member who got through. jgmanza provided some more information and so we can give you more detailed steps.

OK Guys afetr a a hundred tries I eventually got to see my results. It goes like this, please comment if it was helpful.

Go to student portal at http://ors.cxc.org/StudentPortal/Studentlogin.aspx

Enter Center Number - (Here enter only your 6 digit Center Number)
Enter Candidate Number - (Here enter the center number plus the 4 digit student #)
Enter Last Name - (I did it like this "Manzanero")
Date of birth - (Just follow the formah here 18/11/1993 for 18 Nov, 1993)
Period - (Mine was CSEC June 2011)

Press login

The following I borrowed from above. It works!

Step 5: Click on report

Step 6: click on report type

Step 7: select results preslips

Step 8: select preview

Finally: save or open it

For the Last name I just put in my last name but with a capital.

Glad it worked for you! I am going to update my blog now to show the steps you included.

If anyone else uses the steps and they are helpful, please let us know so that we can do more updates.

This way everyone can get their results in a reasonable time.

Im trying to see my 2011 CAPE result i tried using to follow the format but i got an error messagesaying it is invalid even though i put in the correct information to get what i want.

Has anyone seen their CAPE result for 2011? If so please let me know how to do it cause i want to see my result.

The tab "result- preslips" it not coming up. there is somthing wrong with the server.

That is the number you were given for the Center where you took the exam. If your student number is 10 digit long (like for us) it is the first 6 digit of that number.

I Love the initiative but you should design and implement a better database system. traffic is getting piled up and you need to sort out your server side codes to get better accesability.
Young people are intrigued with visuals, sure the web application gets some part of the job done but it could do with a little more aethetic correction (make it a little more appealing like styling it with some css and jquery) otherwise this is a big step but do some work and make it a better experience.

Thanks for the advice, it is well taken. Thing is, this is a free community, which means that a lot of the work that goes into the community is volunteer work. In terms of how we use our manpower, a decision was made to focus on producing and aggregating high quality content rather than focusing on the visuals.

That being said, we do know that the visuals are weak, but it is a trade off. If we do decide to tackle it all: work for a better visual online experience while continuing to develop the repository, I am not sure how that will play out.

We will "try something" soon though...

You can find your centre no on your timetable. Its at the left hand corner close to the top. It should be under your name. Or the first 6 digits of your registration number is your centre no (all of it should have 10 digits; 6 for centre no and 4 for your candidate no)
